I just received this camera (part of a kit) and purchased via Ebay. It seems to work properly indoors but outdoors every shot is terribly over-exposed, very washed out with lines running across the screen as well as the picture itself when downloaded to the computer. I have tried adjusting the shutter speed, f-stop, the lighten/darken control etc. to no avail. The problem occurs in program as well as all other modes including manual. I suppose the camera is defective and I’ll have to start fighting with the seller and maybe Kodak after the weekend, but-am I missing something that might explain the problem?
Thank you for any assistance you may provide.
Doug
No, I think the camera is bust. Now you know why the seller was selling it. I am so sorry.
I’m an amateur photographer and I’m looking to (possibly) upgrade to a DSLR camera. Right now I have the Kodak EasyShare C180. As far as the pictures I take, they’re of literally anything — nature, fireworks, people, paper, etc etc and so something… versatile would be best. Also, I do have a budget of up to around $800, so one around that price would be fabulous. I know nothing about these cameras, so any help would be appreciated. Any lens, accessories, or whatever that you think I’d possibly need would be great, too. Thank you so much ![]()
With your budget the most bang for the buck would be the Nikon D5000
However look too at the Nikon D3000, Canon XS and Pentax K-x. With your budget, you may be able to afford a second lens.
Now that you have a list, go into a camera store and try each of those cameras out, first to see how well they fit in your hands and second to see which has the easiest menu for you to navigate when making changes in the cameras settings like white balance, ISO, EV and shooting modes
That camera will be the one for you.
It’s a Kodak EasyShare ZI285. I was taking a picture, went to review, got on the menu and I pressed "Crop", then it just froze. I tried pressing and holding the power button, and every other button, but it’s still frozen. Can I do anything to get it unfrozen?
Take the batteries out.
is the Kodak easy share camera good? ican someone tell me the pors and cons about it? can you put the camera on mute so you dont have to hear a noise when you are taking a picture? thanks everyone!!! have a good day
Kodak has a large array of cameras and calls all of them "Easy Share". The higher end ones provide good value for the price. To the best of my knowledge all of them have a quiet mode they call "manner/museum".
im thinking about getting a kodak camera with the easyshare button and i was just wondering if it works and what it exactly does?
It simply lets you set up some email addresses to make the process of emailing photos quicker once the photos are downloaded to your computer. A total waste of time, and emailing photos is a dreadful idea, anyway. Uploading and linking is MUCH better.
Spend a bit of time looking around this YA website.
You will see oooooooooooodles of questions about broken Kodaks.
Once you have read a few, you will avoid Kodak like the plague.
Stick with Canon or Nikon.
I decided to make a cheap steady cam to use with my new Kodak Zi6 video camera. I made it from PVC instead of metal. The PVC is lightweight and for my use, it is strong enough. Plus I don’t have to kill a drill bit in order to make the holes needed for mounting the camera and the weight.
Parts Needed:
ALL PVC IS 1″ THICK – You will need to cut this. Almost any saw will do the trick.
One 5″ Long PVC Pipe
One 12″ Long PVC Pipe
One 15″ Long PVC Pipe
Three 1″ PVC Caps
Two 1/4″ x 1.5″ Long Bolts
Three 1/4″ Nuts
Three 1/4″ Locking Washers
Two Large Washers
Two Smaller Washers
One 1/4″ Wing Nut
PVC Cleaner/Prep – The Purple Stuff
PVC Cement

It will take some practice to get the videos to be smooth. You have to act like you are working with a fragile object. You will get the hang of it. Also…Always have good lighting for your videos. Unlike I did in the video. Sorry it was 3:00 am and one of my light bulbs burnt out before I shot the video.
