    This camera does …
This camera does not work with NiMH batteries. Li-ion batteries only. (that means no alkaline batteries either) If you want to use disposable, they need to be Lithium (Li-ion) If you put NiMH or Alkaline batteries in it, you could damage the camera, and you will not get enough juice to even take one picture. Li-ion only.

    This Camera DOES …
This Camera DOES NOT come with a rechargable battery. It comes with a Li-ion battery but once depleted, it cannot be used.

You can get the KLIC-8000 Li-ion battery and use either the wall charger (K8500 which comes with a KLIC-8000 battery) or the Kodak Dock Station 3 or HD Dock which allows you to charge and transfer pictures/videoes with out having to plug in a USB cable everytime you need to as it is already plugged in and good to go.

yes if you want to …
yes if you want to use the HD video mode on highest quility you need a 32g HDSD i just bought one of ebay and it works great! I also recomend getting a rechargable for it i cant beleive how long the rechargable battery pack lasts. (be sure to get a charger for the camera as it does not charge it for you)

    If you shell out …
If you shell out for good quality rechargable AA NiMHs the battery life will usually be pretty good, not to mention being able to buy disposables cheaply if they ever do die unexpectedly (I always carry a spare set anyway). I did my research and got the best NiMHs and charger I could find (Cameleon 2700mAh), and will probably never buy a camera with model-specific Lithium ion batteries again…

    yes it takes …
yes it takes rechargeable and regular aa batteries. regular aa batteries aren’t worth it, they run out really quickly, the rechargeable seems to last an hour or two. although it comes with a rechargeable battery, it doesn’t come with any way to charge it.
